About me...

Hi. I am Alison and I have always loved making things.

In my 20's I trained as a cabinet maker & upholsterer - I loved to explore opportunities to combine the practical functionality of furniture design with the beauty and originality offered by fabulous fabrics, textures and timbers.

More recently, I discovered the 'flexibility' of glass as a material - and I was instantly hooked!

Glass is unique in its ability to work with light; reflecting and refracting in ways that cry out for the sun to shine through, or for the addition of a candle or a lamp to create a cosy ambience.

Now, I heat glass in a kiln to create original designs, shapes and textures which I then incorporate into bowls, sculptures and a wide range of candle/lamp holders.

I also create stained glass panels and garden decorations, using both traditional lead construction and the copper foil technique made famous by the workshops of LC Tiffany.

I hope that my creations can bring as much joy to those who own them as they  give to me in the making of them.
